The Coca plant has a bad reputation because when it is distilled down and turned into powder it takes your power away (cocaine)- and in Peru there are signs and t shirts that say the coca leaf isn't a drug. (Un Coca no is un Droga) I began having the strong message to make the coca essence- and told Roger, and he laughed and said oh sure, we will just put DEA on our hats (Drug Enforcement Agency) and they will let us come right onto their farm.
And then, as the elemental spirit of the Coca would have it- Roger met the cousin of an uncle of a brother of a friend (or something like that) on a train and they had a brother in law that had an aunt-who had a Coca farm. Well, most folks had never even seen a coca flower, and didn't know if there was one, and if there was one, didn't know when it bloomed. (Yes, this is all pre internet) We found out the reason folks didn't see flowers is because the plants were mostly cloned before they flowered rather than planted from seeds, and they were harvested before they flowered. Well, it just so happened that year there was an excess of coca leaves in the region and they weren't selling so well, so on this plantation (farm) they had let them go to flower. That moment of bloom. So brief, so powerful, so important!
In retrospect, I have so much awe for the divine choreography that took place at every step to make this happen.
The way I could get to Peru in those days in order to make essences was to take a group, to help pay the expenses of traveling.
So we had a group, and my Peruvian friend and colleague and our guide, Roger, arranged for the local train to make an unscheduled stop at a rural farm along the way and let our group get off the train, right at this farm. We stayed in a big room that the family had cleared out for our group- all of us in sleeping bags on the floor. (pretty crazy, actually!) We didn't get too close to the mud walls, as they had recently been white washed and it would rub off on you. It was an amazing trip (which I always remember, for so many reasons, including that was the last time I consciously ate an egg, but that's another story)
We all gathered ceremonially to make this essence. The owner and the workers were very happy to be invited to join us in a circle as we made it the essence. They understood and knew it was about even more than the essence, it was about shifting the energy for the whole plant, and they were grateful to participate. It was beautiful. The essence was named Inocencia Coca- because the Coca plant is innocent, AND the name of the sweet woman who owned the farm was Inocencia! And- it was her birthday.
Some of the gifts of the Incencia Coca Essence are:
Shifting Patterns • Stamina
A sacred Peruvian ally for stamina, clarity, and forward movement. Coca supports balanced energy and metabolism while helping to release addictive or repetitive patterns and break through what no longer serves.
It gently aligns your will and intention, reconnecting you with your natural sense of joy, purpose, and effectiveness.
Move forward with clarity, vitality, and aligned action.
I encourage you to add these Peruvian Essences to your flower essence pharmacy.
